Hey, It’s Friday Again, Who Knew? – My Week in List Form (Cabin Fever Version)

As usual my lovelies, hereโ€™s how my week went, in no particular order:

1- It comes to something when you’ve been locked down for so long that you re-watch the entire back catalogue of House for the second time. Eight seasons, twenty one episodes per season, forty five minutes per episode. 126 hours. Actually if you watch that much of House continuously, he gets REALLY annoying.

2- I’m such an annoying writer. I have all these ideas for novels and end up with three: a book set at MI5, a children’s book about Dragons, and a book about a girl who raises otherworldly creatures like a pre-school, three months later decide to merge them into one. The up side is having merged them it looks like I’ve done so much work on this book. The down side is I’ve dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back.

3- I wish my cats had a job, or school, or somewhere to go. After so long being locked down I’ve become acutely aware that fluffy-butt and fur-ball are also bored out of their minds. I can’t sit still for more than eight seconds without there being a cat stuck to my thigh that I have to scrape and shoo off. It’s the same feeling you get listening to someone eat Doritos in a quiet room. For a hundred days. Is my eye twitching?

4- On an undisclosed date at an undisclosed address, we threw a covid-friendly – no, that’s the wrong phrase isn’t it… a covid-observant surprise birthday party for my Dad. Being 80, we wanted to do something for the old fella. So I organised a ‘surprise Facebook room where people could show up and say Happy Birthday and my Sister invited all the neighbours from the street he lives on to swing by and say Happy Birthday over the fence, six feet apart, with ppe. I was stunned at how many people showed up in their masks, carry their mug of hot drink. Quite impressed with how it all turned out. Another shoulder-dislocate moment. And of course, there was cake. My Sister has become quite the baker-of-cakes.

5- Well, back to my corner I go. Iโ€™m on level 800 of Fishdom. Need to get to 900 by the end of the day.

Quote of the Week:

‘If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great wayโ€™
