Here’s an Excerpt:
Transitioning is getting prepared for a coming change. As I said in my previous book, if you don’t prepare you fail, it’s that simple. When summer is coming, you put away your winter coats and gloves, and get out tee-shirts and bikinis. When winter is coming you get Tyrion Lannister on your side (unless he’s dead already; is he? I should catch up).
It’s also important to remember that in order to change you have to actually do something different. I was chatting to a friend recently, and she was telling me all the fruit, veg, and healthy what-nots she buys and then ends up throwing away. It’s all very well to buy this stuff (and it looks great in your cupboards and all) but you have to consume it too. It’s about two things, preparation and FEAR. It’s no use buying a load of salad items if it’s snowing outside and you’re aching for a big bowl of chilli.
Fear has come from the Diet and Food Industry. With the exception of very few (even Jamie Oliver scares me), we are shown that oats rolled on the thighs of vestal virgins from the outer Mongolian floating mountains should be readily available in our cupboards. And if it isn’t, we tend to say, ‘bugger it’ and make a bowl of cereal and watch Strictly on telly. Who needs that crap, right?
