As usual my lovelies, here’s how my week went, in no particular order:
- Wrote just about 4,000 words this week, which isn’t awesome; however it’s 4,000 more than I would have written had I not pushed past my ‘squirrel mode’. And it was a ‘hump’ in the book that I had to get over. 10k+ a week would be my unicorn.
- Because of the covid lurgy. my house has been for sale for over a year. Now everything’s starting to move again I’m getting lots of viewings. Which is great, but also means I have to deal with Estate Agents more than I’d like to (not at all). They rate above traffic wardens in my ‘would like to shoot into space’ ranks.
- Bit of a weird week this one. Getting stuck in your first draft and dealing with those sleaze-buckets will do that. I made myself a house-measure vodka and 7up last night. My first drink this year. At OH-four-hundred this morning I instantly regretted it. So, at OH-four-thirty this morning I was pouring a 3/4 bottle of Stoli down the sink. Just doesn’t do it for me any more.
- Things researched for the book this week: ‘Native Welsh plants used for healing’, ‘which direction does the jugular flow and where to’ (and which side it was on – which massively amused my vampire fans no end – just shut up, you lot 😀 ).
- My main character has a metric shit ton of explaining to do in the next chapter. So I’d best get to it. The person she’s talking to is already tapping his foot and glaring at her with his arms folded. Toodles, chaps and chapesses.
